Putting all of the Evidence Together
1. For any/all of the following labs that you are assigned to complete, you must record the questions and answers in your own notebook. Be certain you will understand what you've written when I ask you to reference your work later! Selected questions will be turned in so that I can check your work.
2. If any lab tells you to see a certain page in your text book, ignore it. These labs are from a different text book publisher than the one we use.
3. If a lab tells you to write something on your worksheet, that is your notebook.
4. If a lab tells you to mark something on the "map" on your worksheet, use the map we've been using to record data.
5. When doing many of these labs, the format will be the similar.
a. black text = READ FOR INFORMATION, UNDERSTANDING, & INSTRUCTIONS.
b. red text = DO something: click here; drag that; draw this, etc.
c. blue text = COPY into your notebook and ANSWER!
You must do the required ones. I suggest you do any/all of the others for practice and test review.
Lab Titles
Required:
How are volcanoes related to plate tectonics? (On page one you can probably plot only 10 of the volcanoes and still understand what is happening. If you need to plot more to "get it," then plot more. Answer all questions 1 - 10.)
How are earthquakes related to plate tectonics? (Answer questions 1 - 7, 9.)
How are mountains related to plate tectonics? (Questions 1 & 2 are optional, but you must do 3 -9.)
Suggested - Useful for test preparation!
How fast do plates move? (Can be submitted later for extra credit.)
What does the ocean floor look like? (Helps with identifying ridges, trenches, islands, etc. on a map of the ocean floor.)
Are you finished marking the boundaries on your map in color? - Check to see if you are correct.
