Things to Know

Wish List - supplies I could use if you are willing and able to make a donation:  boxes of tissue, rolls of paper towels, zip lock bags of any size, and re-fill rolls of scotch tape.

Please do NOT wear perfumes, colognes, or use hand sanitizer in my class room.  I am allergic to these strong scents.  I can't do much teaching if I can't breath.  :0)  If you would like to clean your hands for any reason, I have a sink with soap and water or you can bring and use wipes.

I will feature current science news or events in this location.  I will not routinely make a point of reminding you to check out these current events, but I do expect that you take the time to investigate each of them.  Start with the ones below.

Our First Dialectic

Litter Happens - even ABOVE our planet!

What is the cost of "progress"?  Does "progress" always mean improvement?

View the images of space debris that have been provided by the ESA and read the captions for each.  Jot down your immediate thoughts and the questions these thoughts prompt.

This week in science news: (Updated on 8/18/2008)

Are you a Harry Potter fan?  Even if you are not, who hasn't wanted to be invisible at some point in his or her life?  The "invisibility cloak" of Harry Potter fiction is now apparently one step closer to reality.  Hold on to your heads - this one is hard to grasp!
