Waves Unit

Today will serve as an introduction to the major topics involved in our waves unit.  Throughout the next two weeks we will discuss this content and “play” with waves.  You are SURROUNDED and BOMBARDED by waves, even though most are not visible to the eye and cannot be detected by the human body.  Before you move on, open your agenda and record the following as HOMEWORK:

A.  Gizmo due November 22.  (This is not the most pressing part of homework. It should be put off until after you finish everything else from today's class work and the text book work.)

B.  Wave unit test is on December 2.

C.  Read section 1 of chapter 13 and take notes in the appropriate page of your notebook (the page for 8-6.1).  Answer questions 1-6 on page 446.  [Note: Students who currently have an 90+ average are exempt from this homework.  It is a good idea to at least read the content, but you are being trusted to make the decision that is best for you.  If you have an 89 or less for your current average, this homework is required.]

Part One – What will you be expected to learn?
