As I told you on Wednesday, today is the FINAL day for makeup work missed due to absence! PLEASE check your ParentPortal (yes, now), and see if you owe me any of the work that is still being accepted (Check this link! Not everything is being accepted!)  There are a few of you who have a ZERO for our waves test because you have not bothered to take it!!!!

You have three items on which you may work today.  You may do them in the order of your choice; HOWEVER, if you know that you have technology woes at home, I strongly encourage you to use your class time today for the Gizmo.

Gizmo (due 12/15) Safety Notes (should have been finished yesterday) Scale Diagram (Due Monday.)
  • Thursday, 12/15 we will meet in here for you to submit your answers to your Exploration Guide for today's Gizmo.

  • You may wait to submit your five online questions until 12/15, but that is the latest you can submit - earlier is better.  If you are absent on 12/15, don't forget that you are still responsible for meeting the 12/15 deadline for the 5 online questions. No exceptions!

  • If you KNOW you will be absent on 12/15, and you want to submit your Exploration Guide early, let me know ASAP.

  • Today's Gizmo is called "Determination of Epicenter."  This is the Word version. (Click here if you'd rather view the PDF.)

  • Don't forget to STOP and add new vocabulary to your notebook!

  • Explorelearning.com

  • The peach sheets with the notes are on the round table.

  • Help yourself, but return the sheet when you are finished.

  • Don't forget to add the following to the section of your notes called "After the Earthquake:"

“If a person is injured and cannot evacuate under their own power, do NOT move them!  Stop any bleeding and then cover the injured person with a table.  Notify emergency personal immediately of the injuries and the exact location of the person.”

  • Paper, rulers, and colored pencils are on the round table. (Use the calculator on the computer.)

  • You may discuss the process with a friend or neighbor.

  • You may work at a table in the library if you need more room.

  • If you need to talk to me about your math, come on up. Bring the work you've tried so far and your calculations.

  • Don't forget that the finished product needs to meet these requirements.

  • Due Monday.
