Rock Cycle

ALL of the information below needs to go in your notebook!!

As you move through the activities, these terms will be used and you will have to know how each relates to the other.

  1. The three types of rock, igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary, can each undergo specific processes to become another rock.

  2. As with all cycles, there is no true beginning or ending to the rock cycle.  (However, it is usually easier to start talking about it at the magma/lava stage.)

Terms and Phrases to Know:

  • sedimentary

Processes

  • melting

  • cooling/crystallizing
