March 11, 2010 Agenda

1.  Geology Test: Earthquakes.    You may review quietly for a few minutes.

Miscellaneous:

        a.  I need just a few 8GACers during lunch or recess to make some posters.

        b.  TOMORROW is our field trip.   Please remember to bring a bag lunch, wear your a & m shirt, and bring a towel or blanket for our picnic.  You will report to SIXTH period (or your chaperone) when the bell rings at 8:25.  You WILL have 5th period class.  Be sure you bring whatever you need for that period.

2.  Visit the link in the "Things to Know" section of my main page to look over information on how you and your family can be better prepared for a major Lowcountry earthquake.

3.  Next week we will be studying volcanoes.  Do NOT wear your best stuff on Monday, Thursday, or Friday.  (The only exception will be girls in 3rd period.  You will be studying volcanoes the week of the 22nd.)

    a.  View the Volcano BrainPop as your introduction.   Try the quiz.  If you make less than an 80, you missed some of the big ideas.

    b.  Do some research and locate an ACTIVE volcano; yes, I mean one that is currently causing trouble.   Record the location in terms of the city/region/country, as well as the longitude/latitude.   Record any data about the effects in that region because of the volcanic activity.
