Please complete today's agenda in order.
1. Take out a calculator or open the one on this computer.
2. Take out a scratch sheet of paper. Write the following on this paper:
a. your name,
b. your period, and
c. today's date.
3. You may use the paper and calculator for today's test, but the paper must be turned in when you submit your test. Please note the secret word that is on the board. If you are ready, you may begin today's force and motion test two.
4. Turn in your scratch paper (black basket).
5. We have been asked to complete a survey for a college. The survey focuses on math and science education in middle and high schools by assessing your attitudes and perceptions about math and science.
a. When asked whether we are at the beginning or the end of the unit, answer "beginning."
b. When asked for your student ID number, please use your seven digit phone number without the dash (no area code). For example, if my phone number was 873-3610, then my student ID for this survey would be 8733610.
c. Please answer each question as honestly as you can and answer all questions.
d. If you are ready to begin, click here to open the survey.
6. If you have time remaining, you have THREE options only. If you are doing anything other, you will receive a detention.
Option A: Read a book.
Option B: Work on something for another class that does NOT involve the Internet.
Option C: Play physics games. The instructions for this are below. Follow them EXACTLY. This is the ONLY website that can be visited.
(Note - this is a British website so some phrases are strange and some things are spelled differently than we would spell them in America.)
To play the physics games:
1. Log in. (See left side of the white board for log-in information.)
2. Click "science."
3. Click "physics."
4. For any titles that you chose, you must read the instructions on how to play first. If there is noise in the game, use headphones.
5. You may use the following titles ONLY:
a. Space Cadet
b. Case studies in Newton's laws: The horse and cart
c. Space shepherd
d. Moments: Princess on Rollerskates (However, you don't really know what a "moment" is, so this may be very challenging.)
e. Gravity Game
